Member Spotlight: Pieter Van Leugenhagen
A passionate entrepreneur and marketer, Pieter Van Leugenhagen and his immersive media company Yondr is at the frontier of Virtual Reality marketing in Europe and the US. Yondr came about in 2014 when when Pieter and his co-founders Mathias Van Dosselaer and Dave Roox started taking notice of 360 VR videos around the internet. They realized that the logical step in marketing, and for their company, would be to step away from traditional linear marketing and embrace VR, an innovative new medium. Today, Pieter and Yondr are pushing Virtual Reality forward, both as an art form and as a business.
Yondr took off between 2014-2015, as every big brand was searching for something fresh and unprecedented. When in 2016 the business slowed down, Yondr re-grouped and positioned themselves as a solution driven marketing company, creating a workshop called VR Sprint, where the focus is on how VR can solve problems and help bring sustainable solutions for creating value in companies. “Every new project is always something different and innovative in VR” says Pieter.
Pieter is currently working on pushing the boundaries of VR further, in his personal mission to integrate VR and storytelling into companies, and with Yondr’s continual growth and development in the industry. Pieter’s hopes for 2018 are to further develop Yondr's partnership with Getty Images, to help companies find sustainable solutions to reach consumers, and to grow the VR community by launching a platform where developers can train themselves to become high-quality VR content creators.
