Edwon and Tyler developed various types of game play. Now players can feed Waba, put it to bed, put heavy objects on Waba, and even receive kisses from Waba.
After realizing Waba could be more empathic if he recognized physical hand gestures, Edwon and Tyler developed a gesture recognition Unity plug-in using neural networks. “VR Infinite Gesture” goes up for sale on the Unity Asset Store so other developers can use the tech as well.
Concept art was created by Nobuko Hori to develop the various worlds Waba canlive in. Edwon and Tyler work together to create the concept art into 3-dimensional worlds.
Prototyping with a Leap Motion, Edwon experiments with how hand gestures interact with Waba. The goal is to achieve a satisfying, almost tangible interaction between Waba and the player.
After months of research and studying under a mesh deformation master in Japan,Edwon developed a custom wobbly mesh that would soon become our pet protagonist Waba.
