Danny Cannizzaro is a coder, animator, interaction designer, and visual artist. With Samantha Gorman he founded the studio Tender Claws (tenderclaws.com). Tender Claws’ first release, PRY, was a hybrid cinema/book app named one of Apple’s Best Apps of 2015 and was a Future of Storytelling Prize finalist. In March 2017, Tender Claws released “Virtual Virtual Reality” (V-VR) with support from Daydream VR. V-VR recently won the Google Play Award for Best VR experience. Danny holds a MFA from UC San Diego in Visual Arts and has worked as an Art Director and Creative Director on Projects for Google, Facebook, and Kanye West.
Maria has a unique background both on product and interaction design. During her Master’s Degree, she specialized on creating seamless interactivity blending tangible interfaces with digital content. Maria’s research is focused on finding innovative interaction adapted to emerging technologies.
After studying in renowned design schools in Switzerland (Ecal, HEAD), she co-founded apelab in 2014. For more than two years she also worked in the field of robotics at EPFL (Swiss Polytechnic School), creating augmented reality interfaces for educational robots.At apelab, Maria leads the user experience design and works on the creation of new tools and original content, crafting the grammar for virtual and augmented reality.
