Nico Casavecchia is an Argentine director, screenwriter and illustrator. His work employs mixed media techniques ranging from animation to live action. Nico directed A Boy and His Atom (2013), a stop-motion animated short lm created by IBM research scientists by moving individual carbon monoxide molecules, and is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s smallest stop-motion film. His feature film Finding Sofía, premiered in Austin Film Festival in 2016.
Nico’s work has been showcased in festivals like BAFICI, Siggraph, Viedram (Rome), Austin Film Festival, Holland Film Festival and Ars Electronica among others and received Gold and Bronze statues in Cannes Lions, Clio, AICP, and London LIA awards.
